Yes! It’s finally here – Riftboards proudly presents its first high-end downwind board.
After extensive testing, countless comparisons with what's available on the market, and over 10 years of experience in foilboard shaping, we’ve developed a board that 100% meets the demands of
both inland waters and open ocean conditions.
I’ve personally tested this board over more than half a year in all types of conditions—whether flatwater paddle-ups, foil wave riding, wingfoiling, or even the latest discipline: parawinging. The result? One board that does it all.
In shaping the board, I deliberately avoided flashy features like exaggerated channels or gimmicks. A true downwind board needs to accelerate quickly and release cleanly from the water without sticking. At the same time, it should offer maximum stability to make getting up and riding as easy as possible. This board delivers exactly that.
I also made a conscious choice to keep it compact. At exactly 200 cm long, it fits into almost any car, can be transported by train, and still offers outstanding performance and fun on the water.
The board comes in two versions and two volume sizes: a Light Version and a Strong Version, available in 103 liters or 88 liters.
Both constructions offer identical on-water stability. The Strong Version is simply more impact-resistant—thanks to a build with 300g carbon and 160g fiberglass (instead of 200g carbon in the Light Version). It’s about 400 grams heavier and includes additional carbon layers in the nose and tail. Both boards feature a full carbon sandwich construction in the standing area and around the foil box.
A deep concave runs through the deck for enhanced control and feel. For the grip pad, we use the same deck pad found on our kitefoil boards—widely considered one of the most direct and responsive options on the market. Just a heads-up: it may cause slight rubbing on the top of your feet when getting up.
